Check the Brazil link in this post also. Doing street photography is culturally dependent. Sometimes it is even by location, I know I feel a difference in doing street photography between Seattle, Tacoma, Fairbanks, Auburn, Amery, and Anchorage. there are different levels of curiosity, suspicion, wariness, and intensity in each location. In Thailand I love the open interaction with the people, I do not feel the same way in most places in the United States.

Excellent documentary photography, sometimes the subject transcends the photograph. I used to go to Vancouver on the weekends, I went to school in Bellingham. We used to love to walk through Chinatown and also this area, things have sure changed. These photographs make me want to go there again.

Calcutta has always fascinated me, I read a history of Calcutta years ago and it has stuck in my mind. I would love to visit there sometime soon. This project is interesting photographically, educationally, and artistically.

The idea of framing, or selecting, is the essential task of making a photograph. These photographs evoke the process, and also, to me, question the whole process of making a photograph. Very evocative.
